New Kicks
I never understood why some women have a closet dedicated to shoes. I mean, why on earth would you need so many, especially if you never wear them all? I am a “one-shoe-fits-all” kind of girl, and for the past 5 years, my shoe has been the Adidas Samba Classic. No frills.
Yeah, it’s a “mens” shoe, but I’m sorry, the women styles out there just don’t cut it (Did I mention I don’t wear heels? Rule 1: Shoes must be comfortable). Not even the Womens version makes the cut. What can I say? Some ladies have man-hands, I just may have man-feet.
But after 5 years of the same Sambas (black shoe, white stripes) it was time to graduate. This was the year for some color. And translucent soles. This was the year of the Samba 80. And through much deliberation, I narrowed my choice down to two different pairs (Yessiree, livin’ large). It was tough, but I did it, and they’re fantastic.
So, maybe I’ll end up being one of those women after all… with a closet full of Sambas.
